Kids love their stuffed animals to pieces. Literally. And 80% of them are covered in harmful bacteria. Lysol Laundry Sanitizer gently sanitizes fabrics in the wash. But most parents don’t know it exists. Teddy Repair was a program designed to educate parents on the disinfecting abilities of Lysol Laundry Sanitizer by using it on the germiest and most beloved fabrics in existence: the fur of children’s teddy bears.
We worked with a renowned industrial designer to create silicone bracelets for the bears embedded with NFC tracking chips. The bracelets stayed on the bears throughout the entire repair process; which means they were designed to withstand extreme heat and moisture, as they had to go through a washer and dryer. After each of the five steps in the Teddy Repair process, the bear’s bracelet would be scanned at a photo station. All of its information would then be used to populate a customized text that was sent to parents’ phones alongside the bear’s photo.
